Chatti Padshahi Gurudwara

Chatti Padshahi Gurudwara, located near the southern gate of Hari Parbat Fort in the Rainawari area of Srinagar, is a prominent Sikh shrine that commemorates the visit of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, the sixth Sikh Guru, during his journey through Kashmir in the early 17th century. The gurudwara features a rectangular prayer hall with a central sanctum, a spacious terrace, a langar hall serving free meals to all visitors, and guest accommodations for pilgrims. A nearby well is traditionally believed to have been dug on the Guru’s orders. Today, Chatti Padshahi serves as a vibrant center of worship and community, attracting devotees particularly during festivals like Gurpurab and Baisakhi, and is renowned for its spirit of inclusivity and communal harmony, welcoming people of all backgrounds to partake in worship and langar.
